The department of Career Services at the University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for the Program Manager for Graduate Student Career Services position! The Program Manager for Graduate Student Career Services specializes in career development and programming for students currently pursuing advanced degrees. This position provides day-to-day oversight of the graduate student career services program including program strategy, assessment, and reporting. This position also serves as a liaison for all inquiries related to career support for their specific population and coordinates with Career Services staff to provide needed programming and services. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Program Management:
  • In consultation with the Dean of the Graduate School and leadership in Career Services, the Graduate Student & Career Development Program Manager provides strategic direction and oversight of career development for graduate students at CU Boulder.
  • Plan, design, and deliver strategic career development programming for graduate student programs including coordination with companies, alumni, and campus colleagues at CU Boulder.
  • Liaise with departments requesting one-time or ongoing support for graduate populations.
  • Be responsible for the organization and content for the graduate student section of the Career Services website.
  • Liaise with campus partners to market events, resources, and trainings.
  • Propose and track the budget for the graduate student career program.
  • Partner with Career Services employer relations staff members to gain familiarity with and knowledge of employers hiring graduate students.
  • Provide vital training and communication to Career Services staff where relevant to scale program impact.
  • Regularly attend Graduate School staff meetings, participate in professional development offerings through the Graduate School, and coordinate communications with the Graduate School.
Career Development Advising & Outreach:
  • Provide individual career development advising primarily for doctoral students.
  • Prepare and deliver virtual and in-person presentations and workshops for various student groups and academic departments.
  • Develop career resources for graduate students for use on the Career Services website and graduate student-focused communications.
  • Conduct research necessary to provide accurate and specialized advice to advanced student populations.
  • Collaborate with faculty or other staff across campus on key outreach efforts.
Assessment and Technology:
  • Implement program assessment measures and reporting for program impact in consultation with Career Services leadership and in alignment with departmental assessment plans.
  • Track and report participant engagement in alignment with departmental strategic goals and procedural guidance.
  • Manage technology and platforms to area of responsibility.
Other Duties as Assigned:
  • This position also attends Career Services staff meetings and participates in and supports various Career Services events and programming.

  • This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule requiring a minimum of 3 days in person on campus.


What We Can Offer

  • The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $67,000 per year.
  • Onboarding assistance is available within Student Affairs division guidelines.

What We Require

  • Master's degree
  • 4+ years of professional, job-related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.


What You Will Need

  • Comfort working with graduate students in a variety of fields, including Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, Arts, and Humanities.
  • Comfort with and experience creating and facilitating presentations.
  • Content and communications development.
  • Collaboration with a diverse set of partners and stakeholders.
