Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
Kennesaw State University's College of Computing and Software Engineering (CCSE) houses over 5,500 students and 135 faculty and staff. Programs include Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Game Development, Information Technology, Data Science and Analytics, Software Engineering, spanning six undergraduate, four master's, two Ph.D.s, and various certificates and minors housed in four academic units. Emphasis is on practical learning with opportunities for internships, hackathons, and industry projects. CCSE fosters a robust research culture, producing internationally recognized research and consistently increased funding (FY 2023, CCSE secured nearly $3.0 million). Facilities include a data center, two research centers, and over ten labs.
Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, administrative faculty position as a tenured Professor and Associate Dean of the College of Computing and Software Engineering with a preferred start date of January 2025. This is a twelve-month contract position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean in collaboration with other college leaders advances the mission of the College. The responsibilities of the Associate Dean may include but is not limited to the following focus areas.
- Manages personnel
- Oversees general College operations including scheduling
- Grows and enhances the graduate programs
- Oversees the development, planning, and implementation of student success activities
- Manages the accreditation and assessment activities (ABET, Assurance of Learning, QEP, etc.)
- Oversees curriculum development ensuring alignment with job market needs
- Provides leadership and oversight for matters related to research
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- A PhD degree, or the foreign equivalent, in one of the disciplines within the College of Computing and Software Engineering at KSU is required.
- Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and professional service commensurate with an academic background and appropriate credentials to be a tenured full professor in an academic unit in the College of Computing and Software Engineering at KSU.
- Minimum 3 years of administrative and/or leadership experience in an academic setting (e.g., experience as center or institute director, lead in research working group, program coordinator, department chair, and/or assistant/associate dean).
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in higher education leadership.
- Previous experience cultivating relationships with community, profession, and other stakeholders.
- Effective and strong communication skills.
