1) Responsible for accounts payable operations including but not limited to:
review of payments and other accounts-payable related transactions.
management of staff members.
maintenance of records.
being the lead liaison both internally and externally for any open matters and questions.
2) Reviews and approves travel and expense reimbursement requests.
3) Auditing and reporting of P-Card transactions (AMEX and JP Morgan).
4) Assist with payroll recording and accounting.
5) 1099 forms for State and Federal tax reporting.
6) Create and maintain other invoices and receivables as applicable.
7) Assist in the review & improvement of fiscal operations by automating manual accounting processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
8) Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions and uploads into the general ledger, including recording journal entries as applicable.
9) Compile assigned audit schedules, reconciliations and additional support.
10) Assist with preparation and submission of various fiscal reporting as assigned.
11.)Supervises six (6) AFSCME accountants.
12) Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field.
At least 4 years of accounting experience.
At least two years of relevant supervisory experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
Ability to work independently and with other colleagues.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and respond to requests for data in a timely manner.
Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Accounting or related field.
Financial background in Higher Education.
Proficiency in Ellucian Colleague ERP and Massachusetts Management Accounting and Reporting Systems (MMARS).
Familiarity with federal regulations and guidelines and general accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Accounts payable experience preferred.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 Non-Unit Professional position. Full State Benefits. Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience.
